Director, Healthcare Technology & EHR Transformation Location: Lafayette, Louisiana preferred | Remote candidates considered Full-Time | Remote/Hybrid with Regular Louisiana Travel Salary: $110,000–$145,000, based on experience The Opportunity *Candidates based in the Lafayette area are strongly preferred; however, we are open to exceptional candidates working remotely who are able to travel regularly to Lafayette and other Louisiana locations as needed. What You’ll LeadEHR Transformation Lead the planning and execution of a multi-location EHR transition from discovery through stabilization, including: Current-state discovery and future-state planning. Clinical, operational and technical requirements. EHR implementation strategy and vendor coordination. Legacy-system continuity and transition planning. Healthcare data migration and archival strategy. Interfaces and interoperability. Infrastructure and site readiness. User acceptance testing. Training and organizational readiness. Cutover and go-live. Post-launch stabilization and transition to steady-state support. You will coordinate clinical, technical, revenue-cycle, data and vendor specialists to ensure the different workstreams operate as one integrated program. Healthcare Technology Leadership Provide senior technology leadership across a multi-location healthcare environment. You’ll: Maintain visibility across technology initiatives, risks and open issues. Coordinate engineers, support technicians, consultants and outside vendors. Lead technology and site-readiness assessments. Drive infrastructure, connectivity, endpoint, identity and cybersecurity readiness. Establish clear priorities and escalation paths. Help build and lead a strong local technology-support operation. Develop technology roadmaps that support both immediate operational needs and long-term organizational strategy. Ensure the technology environment is positioned to support future growth. Clinical & Provider Adoption Technology transformation succeeds only when the people using it are successful. You’ll partner with physicians, clinical leaders and operational teams to: Understand current workflows and identify future-state requirements. Ensure technology decisions support patient care and day-to-day operations. Engage providers and key users throughout design, testing and implementation. Coordinate super-user, training and readiness programs. Identify adoption risks early. Manage workflow change thoughtfully and practically. Monitor adoption and operational performance following implementation. Program Governance & Executive Leadership You’ll establish the structure required to keep a complex transformation moving. Responsibilities include: Own and maintain the integrated program plan, milestones and dependencies. Establish clear decision-making and escalation processes. Maintain visibility into risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies. Establish appropriate governance and change-control practices. Identify decisions required from leadership and drive them to resolution. Lead regular project, vendor and executive meetings. Provide concise executive-level reporting on progress, risks, decisions and upcoming milestones. Anticipate problems before they become blockers. Hold vendors and internal teams accountable for agreed deliverables. Manage program budgets, forecasts, vendor estimates and spend against approved plans. Identify financial risks and budget variances early. Coordinate vendor selection and evaluation activities when appropriate. Establish clear vendor deliverables, milestones and accountability. Track dependencies across multiple vendors and technical partners. Support contract and scope discussions with appropriate leadership and advisors. Ensure proposed changes to scope, budget or schedule are documented and appropriately approved. Measure What Matters Establish and monitor meaningful program and operational measures, including: Implementation readiness. Milestone performance. Risk and issue resolution. Testing completion. Training and user readiness. Provider and staff adoption. Post-go-live system stability. Operational impact and support trends. Use those measures to identify problems early and give leadership an accurate picture of program health. What We're Looking For 7+ years of healthcare IT, healthcare technology or related technology leadership experience. Significant responsibility for EHR implementations, replacements or major clinical technology programs. Demonstrated experience taking an EHR or clinical-system implementation through planning, build, testing, training, go-live and stabilization. Experience leading complex programs involving multiple locations, teams and vendors. Strong project and program governance experience. Experience managing budgets, forecasts and vendor relationships. Strong understanding of risk management, change control and executive reporting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with executives, physicians, operational leaders and highly technical teams. Ability to translate technical issues into business and operational impact. Strong judgment, organization and follow-through. Ability to create structure and accountability in an environment with many simultaneous priorities. Based in or willing to relocate to the Lafayette, Louisiana area. Ability to travel among healthcare locations throughout the region. We’d Especially Like to Meet You If You Have Led two or more successful EHR implementations or major clinical-system deployments through go-live and stabilization. Multi-site ambulatory or physician-practice experience. Rural healthcare or Rural Health Clinic experience. Experience with athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Epic or similar EHR platforms. Experience with healthcare data migration and legacy-system transitions. Knowledge of healthcare interoperability, including HL7, FHIR and APIs. Revenue-cycle transition experience. Medicaid experience. Experience with both Rural Health Clinic and fee-for-service environments. Experience leading UAT, training, cutover and command-center operations. Experience building or managing local IT/support teams. PMP and/or Prosci certification. Direct EHR implementation experience is more important to us than certification alone. What Success Looks Like Executive leadership has a clear view of what's happening, what's next, where the risks are and what decisions need to be made. Physicians and operational teams are actively involved in the transformation rather than having a new system imposed on them. Technical teams and vendors have clear priorities, owners, deadlines and escalation paths. The EHR transition progresses through a controlled program that protects clinical and business continuity, drives user adoption and transitions successfully into a stable support environment.
