School Health Aide (Berk/Kelly) (SY26-27)

Title - School Health Aide (Berk/Kelly) (SY26-27) is a gateway school system that welcomes and educates all students and families. In CPS, we believe all children are capable of achieving their personal best by providing a safe and supportive learning environment. The district supports over 6,200 students across 11 schools, including pre‑K‑1, elementary, middle, virtual, and high schools, with a commitment to cultural responsiveness and multilingual education. Statement of Duties Under the supervision of the School Nurse, the School Health Aide assists with non‑professional aspects of the school health program as determined by the Manager of Health Services/School Nurse. Duties include supporting students and staff in health care needs, translating for Spanish‑speaking families, and relaying health information to school leadership. Job Responsibilities Assist in health care activities as directed Translate accurately for students or parents who speak Spanish Assist the School Nurse with mandated screenings, recording results, and notifying parents/guardians Weigh and measure students and complete measurement graphs Provide first‑aid care for students with minor injuries Report all illnesses and injuries to the School Nurse for professional review, care, or follow‑up Contact parents of ill or injured children Greets and screens office visitors and answers phone calls Record health information such as screening results, immunization facts, etc. Maintain a current master file of student health emergency information Send health‑related notices to parents; request and tabulate returns; follow up on non‑respondents Provide ongoing communication to the School Nurse regarding the status of health notices Use office software for record‑keeping and clerical functions Maintain certifications in CPR and First Aid Maintain confidentiality of students and staff health information Qualifications Preferred Minimum high‑school diploma or equivalent Bilingual—fluent in English and Spanish, both spoken and written CNA preferred Certification in CPR and First Aid (preferred) Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment Effective communication skills with students and staff Demonstrated technology capabilities Understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality of health information Required for Consideration Completed Chelsea Public Schools application and CORI Form Letter and resume Transcripts if applicable Terms School Year position, 30 hours per week.
