Infrastructure Engineer – L3

Location: Dallas, TX – Hybrid
Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer – L3 with 8+ years of experience supporting, implementing, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise IT infrastructure environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise across compute, storage, networking, hosting services, security, databases, and cloud platforms . This role will provide advanced technical support, contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives, and help maintain highly available, secure, scalable, and reliable IT services across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Infrastructure

• Support the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise infrastructure across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments .
• Analyze technical requirements and contribute to stable, scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure solutions.
• Ensure infrastructure changes comply with organizational standards, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide L3 technical expertise for complex infrastructure issues and escalations.

Infrastructure Support & Optimization

• Monitor infrastructure performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, availability, capacity, and efficiency .
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, modernization, and technology refresh initiatives.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure incidents and perform root cause analysis (RCA) .
• Prepare technical documentation, implementation plans, operational procedures, and handover documentation.
• Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and operational improvement.

Capacity Planning & Resilience

• Perform capacity planning across compute, storage, networking, and cloud resources .
• Support backup, data retention, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) activities.
• Participate in disaster recovery exercises, failover testing, and infrastructure validation.
• Ensure infrastructure services meet defined availability and resiliency requirements.

Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure

• Support and administer infrastructure services across AWS and Microsoft Azure .
• Work with IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid cloud environments for provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support.
• Support cloud migration and infrastructure transition activities, including assessment, build, testing, deployment, and post-migration validation.
• Utilize automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or equivalent technologies .

Security & Compliance

• Implement and maintain infrastructure security policies and operational controls.
• Ensure compliance with requirements related to access management, patching, vulnerability remediation, security controls, and data protection .
• Partner with security teams to investigate findings, remediate vulnerabilities, and maintain a secure infrastructure posture.
• Support infrastructure hardening and security improvement initiatives.

L3 Technical Support & Operational Excellence

• Provide L3 support for complex incidents, service requests, problems, and infrastructure changes.
• Perform detailed troubleshooting across compute, storage, network, hosting, database, and cloud environments.
• Identify and implement permanent solutions to recurring infrastructure issues.
• Support cost optimization through right-sizing, utilization analysis, standardization, and automation .
• Improve monitoring, alerting, operational processes, and infrastructure reliability.

Database & Data Platform Support

Provide technical support and coordination for relational, NoSQL, and big-data platforms, including:

• Oracle
• Microsoft SQL Server
• PostgreSQL
• Hadoop
• Spark
• NoSQL platforms
• Other open-source data technologies

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting platform availability, performance, and operational stability.
• Monitoring database and data-platform performance.
• Coordinating backup and recovery activities.
• Supporting access management and security compliance.
• Troubleshooting infrastructure-related database and data-platform issues.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of overall IT/infrastructure experience
• Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Proven experience providing L3 technical support and troubleshooting .
• Experience across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with infrastructure, application, database, security, and operations teams.
• Experience with infrastructure modernization, migration, automation, and optimization initiatives is highly desirable.
