Instrument Technician

In this role, you will support process operations, maintenance, and engineering by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing process control system equipment.Minimum Requirements:An Associate's Degree in the Instrument and Controls f ield OR S uccessful completion of a formal program in the field of Process Instrumentation through military service or crafts apprenticeship program with 5 years of recent practical experience in maintenance of industrial instrumentation and controls equipment ( calibration of smart transmitters, PLC, DCS, AMS, rebuild control valves, etc)C urrent ISA (Formerly: Instrument Society of America) CCST Certification Level I (or equivalent) and 5 years of recent practical experience in maintenance of industrial instrumentation and controls equipment (calibration of smart transmitters, PLC, DCS, AMS, rebuild control valves, etc)Responsibilities:Maintain online analytical instrumentation through preventative and corrective maintenancePerform the routine checks and maintenance required to ensure equipment functionality and reliabilityMaintain accurate and thorough records of all analytical equipment calibrations in accordance with site quality procedures and documentation best practicesTroubleshoot and repair issues that impair proper functionality of analytical systemsProvide the required support needed to resolve non-scheduled priority jobs during normal and after hoursAssist with updating and creating equipment specification sheets, CEMS equipment files, checklist and proceduresResponds to work orders, overtime situations, and the needs of the refinery.Look for opportunities to improve reliabilityLocation and other Key Details:You will work out of our Commerce City refinery, located at 5801 Brighton Blvd.Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, 5x8 hour shifts Monday through Friday OR 4x10 hour shifts Monday through Thursday, depending on business needsPaid overtime, often 100-600+ hours per year based on plant needsYou will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spacesThis position is safety sensitiveIn alignment with Suncor’s value of Safety Above All Else, we conduct pre-employment drug testing, employment verification, education verification, background checks, and other pre-employment assessments as a condition of employmentHourly Rate and Compensation Details:This is a union represented position under USW 12-477$55.16 per hour with annual increasesCompetitive and flexible employee benefits package that can be adjusted to suit the changing needs of your life, including: 3 medical options (including HSA and FSA options), 2 dental options, vision coverage, and an Employee Assistance PlanExcellent 401(k) plan with up to a 6% vested matchSuncor-funded Cash Balance defined benefit pension plan (vests in 3 years)Relocation support will be providedThink we are a fit?
