Job Purpose The Quality Control Associate performs quality control (QC) functions, including checking pallets for construction integrity, identifying mis‑picks and misplaced cases. The role also works with Inventory Control Clerks to correct errors and rebuild pallets. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Review individual orders to determine correct quantities, packing, and general accuracy of selected orders. Complete required level of QC sampling and required load audit forms. Consult with the appropriate Supervisor regarding any problems identified in the QC process, including quality issues not meeting standards and/or potential safety issues. Coach selectors on job quality and efficiency. Other duties and special projects as requested. Maintain good attendance. Maintain safe work practices. Safeguard confidential company information. Investigate customer complaints with the Supervisor. Perform driver check‑in duties by reviewing customer invoices for accuracy. Evaluate product returns and determine if product is okay to be taken back. Additional Responsibilities Involved in training for Inventory Control Clerks. Process damaged material, ensure returned goods are properly inventoried, and monitor suspense inventory to ensure proper research. Maintain proper warehouse procedures and bring up incorrect practices to leadership. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Ensure compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations. Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets. Utilize computer terminals to account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation. Qualifications A minimum of one (1) year’s experience in a QC role and/or product knowledge. Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred). PC literate with experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database. Education And/or Experience Required High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Read and write emails. Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets. Forklift certification a plus. Language Skills Sets Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms. Determine root cause of problems and corrective action. Computer Skills Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and interpreting and/or creating reports. Physical Demands Occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Activate phone systems using keyboards and buttons. Articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others. Regularly work in an indoor/office environment and sit and/or use repetitive hand motion. Frequently talk, hear, stand, and walk. Work more than continuous 8 hours when required. Work under stressful situations; maintain accuracy and concentration on multiple tasks. Read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision. Speak and communicate clearly over telephones. Maintain sound physical health per a certified licensed physician with no evidence of controlled substance use. Work Environment Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. Noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
