_ ** TITLE: CONTROLLER **_

** About the Role: **

A growing mid-sized law firm (50–60 attorneys) is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial operations. This is a high-impact role partnering directly with firm leadership, responsible for financial reporting, legal billing oversight, and process optimization.

** Key Responsibilities: **

• Lead full-cycle accounting: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll
• Oversee legal billing operations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Deliver financial reporting, partner distributions, and profitability analysis
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Supervise Bookkeeper (direct report) and accounting operations
• Ensure compliance with accounting and legal finance regulations
• Maintain and optimize QuickBooks accounting system
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models (Excel)
• Leverage AI tools and automation for reporting, dashboards, and data analysis
• Partner with leadership on financial strategy and operational improvements

** Qualifications: **

• Five (5+) years of accounting/finance experience
• Law firm or legal industry experience preferred (Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar)
• CPA and/or MBA preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks
• Experience with legal billing systems (i.e. Center Base)
• Strong knowledge of legal billing, collections, etc.
• Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, reporting)
• Experience using AI Tools (specifically Claude) for financial reporting
