Senior Principal EO/IR Systems Engineer

Location: Westford, MA. Onsite. U.S. citizenship required. Security clearance: Secret (active by day1). Salary range: $132,400 – $251,600 USD. Position: Senior Systems Engineer, Advanced Product Solutions, ISR Information and Intelligence Engineering group. What You Will Do Provide technical leadership for the development of airborne EO/IR sensor systems from architecture development through requirement verification and qualification. Transform customer needs into system‑level requirements and decompose/allocate to sub‑systems and components with full traceability. Develop and refine CONOPS and system architecture using Model‑Based Systems Engineering methods. Execute modeling and simulation of system‑level performance under operational conditions. Develop and execute integration, system, and flight test plans. Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including program office, engineering disciplines, customers, and suppliers. Develop products and implement design changes in accordance with engineering processes. Perform Control Account Management duties for scope, cost, and schedule. Qualifications You Must Have U.S. citizenship required (eligible for security clearance). Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree and 10+ years of prior work experience. Experience in architecture, design, modeling & simulation, and/or testing of electro‑optic/infrared imaging systems. Knowledge of optics and/or focal planes. Proficiency in requirements development and management, system design and integration, test plan and procedure development, verification and test, and data analysis. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government‑issued Secret security clearance post‑start. Qualifications We Prefer Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field. Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML), Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and EO/IR sensor modeling and simulation using tools such as Matlab and Cameo Systems Modeler. Technical leadership on projects, including cost and schedule estimates, risk management, and supplier technical management. Experience leading engineering development projects, including design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR). What We Offer Relocation support based on candidate eligibility.
