Pharmacist In Charge Or Staff Pharmacist

This opportunity calls for an experienced Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) or Staff Pharmacist to lead and support pharmacy operations in a specialized psychiatric facility. The role involves overseeing staffing, ensuring compliance, and maintaining high standards of pharmaceutical care within a 128-bed facility averaging 103 daily census.

Location:

• Houston, TX
• Facility focuses on psychiatric care with a dedicated pharmacy team

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Weekend coverage may be required (8:00 AM to 2:30 PM) if per diem staff are unavailable
• On-call coverage may be needed to address staffing gaps

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Pharmacist In Charge, managing pharmacy staffing and workflows
• Collaborate with technicians and PRN pharmacists to ensure smooth operations
• Utilize the HCS Order Entry System (training provided) for efficient medication management
• Maintain compliance with state pharmacy regulations and facility policies
• Support psych specialty areas to deliver safe and effective medication therapy
• Provide leadership during weekend or on-call coverage as necessary

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Texas Pharmacist license
• Proven experience as a PIC or Staff Pharmacist, preferably in psychiatric or acute care settings
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with technicians and healthcare providers
• Flexibility to cover weekends and participate in on-call rotations
• Familiarity with pharmacy order entry systems; HCS experience is a plus, but training is provided
