Software Engineer IV

Job Role: Software Engineer IV Location: Remote Duration: 6 Months ( Potential for extension) Job Responsibilities:

• Design, code, test, document, implement, and maintain VR application programs and interfaces.
• Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
• Modify, install, and prepare technical documentation for system software applications.
• Monitor systems capacity and performance, plan and execute disaster recovery procedures, and provide technical support.
• Identify, escalate and document production impact issues.
• Evaluate user requests for new or modified computer programs to determine feasibility, cost, time required and compatibility with current systems and capabilities.

Skills:

• Expertise with Unreal Engine
• Familiarity with VR devices and development
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issues.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
• Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred
• 5+ years of professional development experience

Must-Have Skills

1. Strong Unreal Engine developer
2. Able to rapidly prototype spatialized content
3. Experience using tools to measure application performance and diagnose issue

Nice-to-have Skills

1. Experience building for and/or using VR headsets
2. Knowledge about video playback fundamentals (video encoding/decoding, etc.)
3. Experience creating and managing Unreal plugins eTeam
