Medical Laboratory Scientist

Labcorp seeks a Clinical Lab Professional for Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Wamego, Kansas. The role involves performing laboratory testing procedures, operating instrumentation, and ensuring specimen quality in a high-volume production environment. Night shift hours (Friday-Sunday, 7 PM-7 AM).
Responsibilities
- Evaluate specimen acceptability according to established quality criteria
- Perform routine and complex technical laboratory procedures per standard operating procedures
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for proper functionality
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents and quality control materials
- Document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures accurately
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- 1+ year clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred
- Ability to pass color blindness test
- Proficiency with computer systems and laboratory information systems
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
