Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse

Profession: Nursing

Specialty: Oncology

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour; Day 3x12-Hour

Hours per Shift: 12 hours

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care BMT/Heme experience and chemotherapy administration experience required. Candidates with 1.5 years of experience may be considered.

License: Current RN License

Certifications: AHA BLS, ONC certification required. Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred.

Must-Have: Candidates must be comfortable working in environments with flexible staffing ratios. Previous experience floating to similar units is required.

Description: The RN will provide care to patients with blood cancers receiving chemotherapy, biotherapies, and cellular therapies, including stem cell transplants and CAR-T.

The unit is expanding to accommodate more patients.

Nurse-to-patient ratios may flex based on staffing and unit needs.

Candidates must be willing to float between related units as necessary.

Daily responsibilities include the administration of chemotherapy and careful monitoring of patients for any adverse reactions.

The RN will also manage the care and maintenance of central lines and ports, perform blood draws, and handle various emergencies such as anaphylaxis and sepsis.

Candidates should be knowledgeable in the management of tumor lysis syndrome and recognize abnormal lab values.

A strong emphasis is placed on patient safety and managing potential complications related to treatment.

The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to adult patients.

Weekend shifts may be required depending on unit needs.

Candidates should be open to flexible scheduling and meet the demands of a high-acuity patient population.
