Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Georgia license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:
Trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, IV insertion and care, central line management, wound care, post-op monitoring, cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation, Glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, and drips titrated to HR rather than BP.

Required Credentials:
Basic cardiac rhythm/EKG competency exam required.

Preferred Credentials:
Nephrology nursing certification preferred.

Special Requests:
RTO requests require manager approval.

Unit Details:
Cares for post-op orthopedic, bariatric, and spinal surgery patients, including TLIF, ACDF, and lumbar fusion cases.
Manages non-titratable cardiac drips, insulin drips, chest tubes, wound vacs, trachs, and PCA pumps.
Patient population includes acute and chronic disease with common comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and electrolyte imbalances.
Uses Alaris pumps, Pyxis, Phillips monitors, VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova glucose stat strips, portable vital sign monitors, bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, external fixators, JP and Hemovac drains, and suction machines.

Shift & Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: 6 shifts in a 6-week schedule (6 of 12 shifts).
No call.
Work one shift of each major holiday: Thanksgiving Day or the day after, 12/24 or 12/25, and 12/31 or 1/1.
Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks. xhyhwjd

Floating Requirements:
Float to all adult med-surg/telemetry units in-house.

14 days maximum time off

1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• CMSRN (Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse) or the alternative certification CNN
