Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Trident Consulting is seeking a "QA Automation Engineer ” for one of our client. A global leader in business and technology services.

Job Description/ Responsibilities/ Years of experience

Skill: Playwright, Python, Cucumber BDD, Selenium, Java, Rest API, DB2

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites with a strong emphasis on UI automation using Selenium and/or Playwright, and BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.

• Build and execute automation scripts across web UI, API, and backend validation; ensure tests are reliable, maintainable, and scalable.

• Define test strategy by decomposing business and technical requirements into test scenarios, test data needs, and contingency plans.

• Own test planning and execution: test case execution plans, defect management, reporting/status metrics, and release sign-offs.

• Validate REST services through functional, regression, and integration testing to ensure reliable, end-to-end coverage.

• Perform database testing in Oracle (SQL validation, data reconciliation, stored procedure outcomes as applicable).

• Validate batch jobs and end-to-end workflows (scheduling, file/data handoffs, downstream impacts).

• Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies as the team's quality advocate; proactively identify defects early in each sprint/iteration.

• Use and contribute to SDLC tooling such as Jira (test cycle management/defects), Git, and CI tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket pipelines).

What are the top 3 skills required for this role?

1. Automation framework enhancement skills, Playwright, Python, Cucumber BDD, Selenium, Java, Rest API, DB2 testing experience.

2. Utilization of test automation tools, to enable the efficient and timely E2E test execution, therefore previous experience of automated testing is required.

3. Ability to liaise effectively between lines of business with empathy and understanding to achieve the common and strategic goal as a team.

Additional Information:

Agile Team Structure. Candidate will be working closely with Dev leads / Product Owners and client stakeholders and providing hands on test automation solution.
