A Welder's primary responsibility is MIG welding of steel parts. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy, and timeliness in the welding area.RequirementsDuties and Responsibilities:MIG welding including the following:Create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols)Inspect welds for accuracy & qualityPrepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting steelChange welding wire as neededChange gas tanks as neededResponsible for the proper packaging, identifying, and moving of all finished products to the proper locationAbility to read measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measuresEnsure all equipment is properly set up and used in a safe manner with all safety devices in placePerform first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as requiredPerform simple maintenance and repair as requiredWill be required to cross-train as back-up in other areas of manufacturing plantAccurately enter data into the ERP system, EpicorKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:One year experience with MIG welding, preferredCandidates must pass basic MIG welding testPosition requires basic math and computer skillsStrong mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow precise instructionsGood written and verbal communication skillsWorking knowledge of measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measurePhysical Expectations:The physical requirements described here are representative of an employee able to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
