Senior Software Engineer

Azenta seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver scalable cloud-native software solutions for its next-generation informatics platform. The role combines enterprise application development, cloud engineering, and AI integration with mentorship responsibilities across geographically distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale cloud-native software solutions using microservices
• Build and operate AWS-based applications with Kubernetes containerization and Infrastructure as Code
• Develop AI-enabled platform capabilities including intelligent search, automation, and analytics
• Lead technical initiatives, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and cross-functional teams on requirements and technical roadmap

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 7+ years enterprise software engineering experience with SaaS/cloud-native solutions and full SDLC
• Strong Java proficiency; experience with React/TypeScript and/or Python
• AWS expertise, Kubernetes/Docker, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD pipeline experience
• PostgreSQL and relational database design, optimization, and performance tuning
• Microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and third-party integrations
• DevSecOps practices, automated testing, and AI/machine learning integration experience
