Budget Manager Position Summary: The University of Wisconsin‑Platteville invites applicants for the Budget Manager role. The Budget Manager oversees budget operations, supports organizational financial goals, and ensures efficient and effective use of institutional resources. The position is full‑time, provides paid and leave eligibility, and involves supervisory responsibilities over budget staff. Key Job Responsibilities Plan and direct staff implementation of budget initiatives, programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations. Exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full‑time equivalent (FTE) employees. Serve as subject‑matter expert to unit leadership and institutional stakeholders regarding budget operations and functions. Analyze, identify, and make recommendations in budget planning to leadership. Develop and administer unit or organizational budgets and large budget projections, including budget planning, policies, controls, procedures, forecasts, and analysis. Required Education Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, business management, or a related field from an accredited institution. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in budget and/or financial management. Experience with complex budgets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities. The University of Wisconsin‑Platteville is a AA/EEO Employer.
