About the Position
TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in Los Alamos, New Mexico, 87544!
Key Responsibilities- Provide post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) nursing care for primarily adult patients, with occasional pediatric ENT cases
- Perform preoperative assessments and care as this is a shared PACU/Preop position
- Maintain 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios in a 3-bed PACU unit
- Respond to on-call notifications and report to the facility within 30 minutes when called in for a case
- Document patient care using CQI and Medhost EHR systems
- Manage common surgical cases including appendectomy and cholecystectomy (gallbladder)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification required at time of submission
- ACLS certification required at time of submission
- PALS certification required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of PACU experience
- All required certifications must be current at submission - certifications are not available on site
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible as a travel candidate
- Combined Preop and PACU experience
- Familiarity with CQI and/or Medhost electronic health record systems
- Experience with adult surgical patient populations
- Opportunity to work in a close-knit, 47-bed acute care facility serving as a major healthcare provider for Northern New Mexico
- Focused scope of practice with no expectation to float beyond the PACU/Preop shared position
