General Counsel

Our client is a rapidly growing private equity-backed pharmaceutical company seeking a General Counsel to join its executive leadership team. This individual will serve as a key legal and business advisor, supporting strategic growth initiatives across a portfolio of complex pharmaceutical and Medical Device assets while partnering closely with executive leadership and investors.

Responsibilities

Partner closely with corporate development, commercial, and executive leadership teams to assess new product opportunities, support in-licensing and acquisition initiatives, perform transaction-related due diligence, and structure strategic transactions that drive long-term portfolio growth.
Lead the evaluation, structuring, negotiation, and execution of strategic licensing, development, commercialization, manufacturing, supply, and acquisition transactions involving complex pharmaceutical and medical device assets
Assist in developing and implementing internal policies and procedures, ensuring they are in compliance and updated, as needed
Provide legal and due diligence support for acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate transactions
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (finance, HR, operations, procurement, business development) on business and legal matters

Qualifications

Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school
15+ years of relevant general corporate and transactional legal experience
Must have prior in-house experience within a Pharmaceutical, Generic Pharmaceutical, specialty pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related Life Sciences company
Strong corporate background with experience in actively drafting and negotiating complex transactions (M&A, licensing, asset purchase, divestitures)
Familiarity with pharmaceutical supply chain and contracting practices
