ED Tech - CNA/PCT

Job Title: Patient Care Technician/ ED Tech - PLEASE READ ALL CERTIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Full Time - 3rd Shift (Weekend Requirements) The Emergency Department is a 19 bed/ 4 chaired area with a separate 2 bay, 1 bed clinical decision area designated for patients ranging in age from birth to death with health care needs from nonemergent to critical. The unit has designated rooms used for life-threatening conditions with special equipment and supplies, and rooms designated as fast track for non-emergent patients. Job Description: Performs direct patient care and related tasks as outlined by scope of practice and including but not limited to: Assists patients in personal hygiene activities such as bathing, dental and oral care, hair, and nail care. Assists patients with bowel and bladder functions while maintaining dignity. Records patient intake and output (I & O). Collects, labels, and transports specimens for laboratory analysis. Changes and transports soiled and contaminated linens according to procedure. Maintains clean and tidy patient room/environment. Assists patients with activity, turning and repositioning as indicated by provider order and in collaboration with the nurse. Communicates pertinent patient information/findings to patient's nurse. Sets priorities for the care of multiple patients.
