NICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated NICU Registered Nurse to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to neonates in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver nursing care to neonates, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and documentation.
Assist with medical procedures such as intubation, spinal taps, PICC line placement, IV starts, and admissions.
Administer medications through PICC lines and support with feeding procedures including OG, NG, and G-tube feedings.
Monitor and manage respiratory support using CPAP and Nasal Cannula.
Float to PICU and PEDS as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level IV NICU setting.
Active RN license in North Dakota and/or Compact RN license.
Current American Heart Association BLS and NRP certifications required.
Ability to perform neonatal assessments and manage intravenous and umbilical lines.
Experience with Epic electronic medical record system is highly preferred.

Work Schedule

This position requires the ability to work 12-hour day and night rotating shifts, including every other weekend.

Unit Information

Unit Type: NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
Bed Capacity: 40 beds
Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:1 to 1:2 for critical and intermediate infants; 3:1 for infants who are growing and feeding.

Training and Orientation

New hires will receive training on Epic (OneChart) and will spend two days with a buddy to learn unit norms and assess the level of infants they can safely care for.

Additional Information

All clinicians must badge in and out of the facility.
Scrub Color: Child-friendly scrubs with role-specific colored pants.
