Fitness Supervisor

The City of Athens is currently hiring for the position of Fitness Supervisor in the Athens Community Center. Fitness Supervisors are responsible for: keeping the weight room clean/sanitized/organized, supervising patrons’ use of the weight room/gym/exercise studio/track, giving new patrons orientations of equipment, possessing general knowledge of fitness and fitness equipment. Fitness supervisors are considered the first responders to any accident that takes place in the weight room/exercise studio/track/gym.

Prior work experience in a fitness center and CPR/First Aid/AED certification is preferred. Applicants currently pursuing a degree in exercise physiology, sport management, athletic training, or recreation sciences will be highly considered.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered. 

This is a part-time, year round position in the Community Center, which operates seven days a week. Shifts will range from as early as 6 a.m. and as late as 8 p.m. seven days a week. Saturday and Sunday hours will be occasionally required.  The starting pay rate is $12.00 per hour.
