About the Role:

We are hiring husband and wife house mentors and multiple individual relief mentors.

As a House Mentor, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to female, teen survivors of human trafficking, who live in a faith-based safe house setting. Your main objective will be to create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes personal growth and development. You will be expected to maintain a positive and professional relationship with the residents, while also ensuring that their physical and emotional needs are met. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with other staff members and external agencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check
• Pre-service and Annual Training upon hire
• Faithful, available, teachable

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Experience working in a group home setting
• Experience with crisis intervention and nonpunitive behavior management techniques
• Experience with de-escalation techniques
• Experience working with youth survivors of complex trauma

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and supervision to residents in a safe house, group home setting
• Collaborate on and implement individualized service plans
• Create a family-first, trauma-informed environment for those we serve
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the case management system
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff members, and external agencies
• Ensure that the home is clean, safe, and well-maintained

Skills:

As a House Mentor, creating a safe and supportive environment for children is paramount. Emotional maturity and patience are crucial as you support children working through their trauma responses, which can present as challenging behavior. Your skills in behavior management, including de-escalation techniques, will be vital in maintaining this environment.

You will also need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with residents, staff members, and external agencies. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential to ensure all responsibilities are completed efficiently. Additionally, you must be able to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing situations and priorities.
