Manager, Biosample Operations

AstraZeneca seeks a Manager for Biosample Operations to oversee coordination, tracking, and storage of human biological samples from clinical trials across multiple oncology programs. The role involves managing logistics with laboratories and vendors, maintaining sample integrity, and leading a team in the Santa Monica, CA office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shipment logistics and tracking of human biological samples to testing laboratories and CROs
• Ensure sample integrity and traceability during transport; troubleshoot collection, processing, storage, and shipment issues
• Manage sample receipt, accessioning, recording, and internal inventory storage for clinical programs
• Track and oversee external contractor sample analysis ensuring timely project completion and data transfer
• Maintain patient dashboards and scheduling tools for sample analysis traceability and reporting

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years relevant experience, or Master's with 4+ years
• Strong record-keeping and organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple programs
• Prior experience managing logistics and storage of biospecimens in clinical studies
• Knowledge of analytical methods and specimen requirements for biomarker or PK assays
• Management experience overseeing external vendor and contractor staff
• Familiarity with LIMS systems
• Ability to collaborate across dynamic team settings and organizational interfaces

Compensation: $112,304.00 - $168,456.00
