JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of theNetwork Supervisor, the DataNetworkTechnician(DNT)administers,maintains, installs, tests, troubleshoots, andmonitorsall networks and systems used to provide service to the company and its customers.To ensure quality of service ofRangeandcustomer data.This roleactively supportsother company departments andtheircustomers with technology needs.Work-relatedtravel is expected in thispositionasnecessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

Equipment Monitoring and Administration:

1. Coordinate use of andmonitordata networkequipment, wireless equipment, transport equipment,andswitching equipment.

2. Uses multiple NMSs (network management software) tomonitorand provision customer access equipment.

3. Coordinate tasks, technicians, and material to complete required jobs.

4. Use multiple networksand alarm monitoring software toidentifynetwork troubles. Troubleshooting or dispatchingasneededto resolve all network issues.

5. Supportstaff,technicians, and customers with troubleshooting network issues, hardware set up and configuring, and software issues. Components mayinclude butare not limitedtocustomer management software, broadband and voice delivery equipment,wirelessand residentialWi-Fi

6. Identifyupgrades and replacements, growth, and network needs for budgetaryplanning.

7. Provision,upgrade,andmaintainlayer 2 switches and somerouting.

8. Provision,upgrade,andmaintainwirelessnetworks.

9. Monitor anddispatchalarms.

10. Testingcustomerbroadbandspeedsand supporting service orders and trouble tickets.

Planning and Installation of Projects1.

1. Helping other departments with service orders,troubles,and network design.

Maintenance:

1. Quality assurance, preventive care, building maintenance, data backup and restoral, testing, repair, alarm handling, batterytesting.

2. Traffic and Bandwidth analysis:Identify and troubleshoot customers equipmentand company equipment.

3. Communicate in simple and comprehendible English the technical limitations,issues,or conditions that the situation demands, so that stakeholders and contacts understand and can process.

4. Participate professionally as part ofvarious teams toaccomplishprojectsand resolve challenges.

5. Perform testingfunctions to evaluateoutcomes, options, and build knowledge/experience toanticipatefuture challenges andproblems.

6. Maintainequipmentusing SSH(Secure ShellProtocol)

7. Ability toreadDLRs (Design Layout Records)ofcircuitsas necessary.

8. Maintain working knowledge and situational awareness to useappropriatespecializedequipmentwhen necessary.

9. Professionally communicate with business and residential customers.Mustmaintainprofessionalism when engaging with customers, skillfullyde-escalate,and listen effectively to customers.

10. Meeting andmaintainingcompliance with local,state,and federal regulations across all areas of this rolesfunctionsarean expectation and key objective.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION):(A combination of demonstrable years experience and applicable alternative training(s) may be considered in lieu of the following qualifications).

1. Successful completion of a2year /associate degreeprogramwith an Information Technology, Networking, or Telecommunications focusedmajor, oradegree from asimilarlyrelated field of study.

2. A minimum of3yearsof workexperienceperformingcomplexDataNetworkrelated functions.

3. A valid, state-issued, and insurable drivers license.

Preferred qualifications include:

Certifications:

Calix (GPON, AXOS, E7-2, C7)

MetaswitchMCT (Class 4 or Class 5)

Nokia ONC (Optical Network Certification)

CompTIA Network +

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Degree:

4years/bachelorsdegree with an Information Technology, Networking, or Telecommunications focused major, or a degree from a similarly related field of study.

7. Administrative / General Office Equipment Operation: Efficiently use common office equipment (computer, digital camera, scanner, fax machine, copier, phone).Identifyoperational problems with common equipment anddetermineresolution.Repair and upgrade office and/ortechnicalequipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSANDWORKING CONDITIONS:

This roleperformsassigned work duties within a general office environment. Employeesmaybeoccasionallyexposed to changingweather conditions or contaminants. Other functions anddemands,include the following:

1. Sitting / standing at an office desk for up to9hours/day or longer depending on the demands of the job.

2. This role may perform workfunctionin an outdoor environment and may not be protected from weather conditions during performance of those functions.

3. Exposure to Hazards: This role can be exposed to a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current(s), performing work on scaffolding, ladders,and in elevated places, or exposure to chemicals in theworkplace.

4. Frequent use of technology, computers, devices, keyboards, etc.(Repetitive hand motion and typing functions)

5. Hearing, listening, talking, standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, squatting, balancing, pushing/pulling,crouching,and climbing stairs are all expectations of this role, although some of these functions may be more seldom performed than others.

6. Must follow all company safety policies / procedures and always useappropriate personalprotective equipment (PPE).

7. Must be able to lift75pounds at times.

8. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations facilities.
