Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) | Holidays, On-Call, Callback, and Charge duties per unit needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill neurological patients in a 12-bed state-of-the-art Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit
• Manage patients with diagnoses including traumatic brain injury, aneurysm, status epilepticus, stroke, and other critical neurologic pathologies
• Apply strong critical thinking and organizational skills to deliver a high degree of specialized nursing and medical care
• Monitor patients via telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Participate in charge duties, on-call, and callback responsibilities as determined by unit needs

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License (NY license required)
• Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience in an ICU acute care setting
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification – American Heart Association only
• ACLS certification – American Heart Association only
• NIHSS certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for patients with neurological or neurosurgical diagnoses
• Demonstrated ability to remain current in critical care knowledge and best practices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a high-acuity team environment
