Registered Nurse (RN)

Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in Med Surg/Telemetry to provide exceptional patient care on a 12-hour night shift schedule. The role involves working every other weekend and possible holiday coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients.
• Participate in patient and family education activities.
• Provide leadership by collaborating with nursing and ancillary staff to maintain professional nursing standards.
• May serve as a backup Charge Nurse as needed.

Position Details

• EMR System: Cerner
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1 to 4/5
• Average Daily Patient Census: 22
• Orientation: 8 hours of non-billable orientation required.

Time Off and Scheduling

Requested time off must be specified at the time of application. Only a maximum of five days of requested time off will be accepted, with less being preferable. Travelers must be available to work during peak holiday periods, specifically:

• Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday.
• Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend.
• New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med Surg and Rehabilitation experience is required.
• Must be willing to float between Acute Rehabilitation and Med Surg units within the scope of practice.
• Charge RN experience is required.
• A minimum of 3 months of previous travel nursing experience is necessary.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility.
• Candidates must have their own vehicle, as public transportation is not available.
• All scheduling requests, including requested time off, must be made at the time of submission.

Certification Requirements

• Active American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification is required.
• A Vermont RN License or Compact License must be provided.

Attendance Policy

Please be aware that the attendance policy is strictly enforced. After three call-offs, a traveler's contract may be subject to termination. Call-offs must be communicated to the unit supervisor at least 1.5 hours prior to the scheduled shift.
