Title General Manager – Johnson Camp Mine/Gunnison Project Compensation Market Competitive - DOE Relocation Company Paid Excelsior Mining Arizona Inc, dba Gunnison Copper is seeking a high‑caliber experienced General Manager for a full‑time position. Gunnison Copper is one of the newest producers of domestic copper cathode and is developing the Gunnison project, a significant cathode producer once built. Summary General Manager will be responsible for the Johnson Camp mine and production. The General Manager will be responsible for safe production of copper from an open pit, heap leach, and SX/EW production plant. Responsibilities Maintain a safe and efficient working environment where excellence and continuous improvement are pursued Achieve production and financial performance in line with agreed objectives, with an emphasis on maintaining the highest levels of safety and environmental compliance Direct and coordinate activities required to achieve safety and environmental compliance, plant efficiency and reliability, in accordance with established contracts, agreements, policies, laws and procedures Preparing and executing annual and life of mine budget plans Familiarity with federal, state and local regulatory agencies as well as industrial EHS standards Qualifications Qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geology, or Metallurgy Over 10 years mining experience; mine engineering or processing experience preferred 3 years overseeing both mining and processing activities The ability to motivate employees from a wide range of cultures and education levels An excellent safety track record Business acumen and sound business operating experience Strong administrative and management reporting skills Additional Information This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” for purposes of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act and the Arizona Drug Testing statutes. All positions at the Johnson Camp mine or the Gunnison sites are safety sensitive. No one in a safety sensitive position is allowed on site while under the influence of controlled substances that may adversely affect their ability to safely perform their job duties.
