As a Packager, you will play a crucial role in the final stages of the production process, ensuring that all finished products are properly packaged and bagged. This position is within a food production environment where strict adherence to hygiene standards is mandatory, including wearing a full gown and hair net. You will be involved in the packaging area, assisting with boxing finished bags of tortillas, disposing of faulty bags, stacking boxes, and bagging products.

Responsibilities

• Rotate between different duties including stacking boxes on pallets.
• Lift up to 30lbs throughout the shift and stand for the entire duration.
• Communicate any equipment errors with machine operators.
• Package tortillas by verifying proper packaging and quantity.
• Place tortillas neatly in the package and ensure proper location for sealing.
• Inspect seals and set aside any packages not meeting quality standards.
• Ensure proper cartons are used and verify legible and accurate code dates.
• Prepare boxes and ensure box printers operate properly.
• Seal and tape product boxes and ensure only good pallets are used.
• Place finished products on pallets in the designated configuration.
• Wrap pallets with stretch wrap and move them to the warehouse for loading.
• Ensure packing area is stocked with adequate supplies.
• Empty food waste containers and remove cardboard from the pack area.

• Previous packaging experience, especially in a food production environment.
• Ability to lift 50lbs consistently.
• Comfortable working in a hot environment, reaching up to 100 degrees.
• Comfortable working at a fast pace.
• Ability to stand for 8 hours a day.

• 6 months of packaging experience.
• Preferred food production experience, with bakery experience being ideal.
• Comfortable working with computers for data entry.

Work Environment

Work in a food production environment that requires wearing a full gown, hair net, and hearing protection. The facility can reach temperatures up to 100 degrees due to proximity to ovens. Employees must be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting, standing for long periods, and working with gluten in the air. Breaks include two 30-minute intervals, one paid and one unpaid, scheduled with the lead.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagan, MN.

The pay range for this position is $18.15 - $18.15/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Eagan,MN.
