Assistant Controller

Assistant Controller We are partnering with a premier hospitality organization to identify an experienced Assistant Controller to join its growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly analytical and hands-on accounting professional who enjoys operating in a fast-paced environment while partnering closely with operational leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical accounting foundation, experience managing the month-end close process, and a blend of public accounting and private industry experience. Hospitality experience is preferred but not required. Key Responsibilities Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes. Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights related to performance, margins, and cost management. Assist with external audits and coordinate audit requests and supporting schedules. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen controls. Serve as a key accounting resource for internal stakeholders across the organization. Assist in mentoring and developing junior accounting staff. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA preferred. Public accounting experience strongly preferred. Combination of public accounting and private industry experience is i deal. Hospitality industry experience preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. Experience working within a multi-entity or complex operating environment preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required. Experience with ERP systems; InforSun and EPM experience are a plus. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
