Senior Cost Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to support inventory accounting, manufacturing cost analysis, and month-end close activities within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role will partner closely with operations and production teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation, cost reporting, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing accounting principles. Key Responsibilities Support inventory accounting activities, including inventory reconciliations, cycle count analysis, material receipts, and inventory balance sheet accounts. Assist with month-end close processes, including inventory-related journal entries, account reconciliations, and inventory aging analysis to identify and reduce obsolete inventory. Analyze labor, overhead, and material costs from production work orders to ensure accurate costing and pricing alignment. Partner with operations and production teams to support work order processing and manufacturing cost accounting activities. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between inventory ledgers and subledgers. Monitor inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records. Prepare and analyze inventory and cost accounting reports to support business decision-making. Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies. Qualifications Required Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including significant cost accounting responsibilities. At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong working knowledge of: Inventory accounting Cost accounting Revenue recognition Experience performing account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience working with ERP systems. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Experience with Sage X3 ERP. Experience within a global manufacturing organization. Reporting Structure Reports directly to the Cost Accounting Manager.
