Logistics Supervisor

Ground Effects

Job Summary

The position of Logistics Supervisor is to oversee incoming and outgoing processes for customer vehicles and material. Ensure that First in First Out (FIFO) requirements are being followed for all vehicles and materials. Supervisor yard and material handling team members to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.

2nd Shift

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain yard and material handling processes.
    • Communicate with OEM transportation vendor on units coming to GFX and leaving GFX.
    • Reporting any damage on the incoming vehicles.
    • Ensure that all production hold units are addressed daily and repaired as needed. Follow up with shift team members to ensure compliance.
    • Organize and send back all RTP units. Verify a Damage Report has been issued, manage out-gating procedure for units that need to be returned back to GFX, and schedule towing pick up for RTP's, that cannot be driven back, with tow company and GM's transportation vendor.
    • Verify all units with flat tires have been quarantined. Notify OEM with a VIN list, CSN#, PVI# and what tire is flat. Continuously communicate with OEM on the order status of the tires. Notify OEM transportation vendor of all flat tires.
    • Verify all exports have been quarantined in the export area.
    • Verify all units have been scanned as shipped (cannot scan unit once loaded)
    • Flagging and staging miss-shipped vehicles according to company process.
    • Tracking damaged units and processing according to company process
    • Checking the status of vehicles
    • Receive and process incoming shipments per work instructions.
    • Monthly inventory comparison
    • Control inventory of materials by long-term storage, short-term storage, and immediate usage, with the ability to solve material issues immediately.
    • Support and follow up with supplier issues including CAR requests, DMR, and supplier visits to plant build locations as needed.
    • Adhere to the IATF16949 requirements by ensuring that inventory of materials meets the production build schedule per customer requirements.
    • Work with quality department to ensure all non-conforming material is tagged as per applicable procedures.
  • Communicate discrepancies or continuous improvement recommendations to Plant Manager or designee.
  • Assist Office Assistant with scheduling of Hazardous Waste pick up, compactor exchange, and recycling pick up.
  • Ensure that the OSHA and internal safe operating principles are in place and adhered to. Comply with provisions of the OSHA Regulations and take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of the employees. Ensure employees are acquainted with and aware of the hazards present in the workplace and provide information, instruction and properly supQualificationservise employees.
  • Ensure compliance to ISO14001 and Hazardous Communication Policy including proper handling, storage and preparation of shipments of Hazardous Waste based on the EPA's RCRA standard and DOT Hazardous Materials standard.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Minimum Required: Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent is required.
    • Preferred: Continued education is materials management or inventory control is desired.
  • Experience
    • Minimum Required: One to three years of experience in material handling, shipping/receiving, logistics or equivalent.
    • Preferred: Experience in automotive upfit is a plus.
  • Familiarity with IATF16949, ISO 14001 Requirements, EPA-RCRA standard and OSHA Requirements is preferred but will train.
  • Operate industrial equipment
  • Must be able to operate forklift, and/or other industrial equipment.
  • Must be team oriented and have excellent communication, organizational, and basic computer skills.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Working Conditions

The following working conditions are present or expected on a daily basis:
  • Manufacturing/production floor environment and administrative assignments.
  • Continuous exposure to industrial manufacturing, automotive vehicles, industrial equipment and weather elements.
  • Must comply with all Company policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times while on the production floor.
