Position Overview

Join us in the summer of 2026 and help us continue the legacy of fostering creativity, nurturing talent, and celebrating the individual artistic journey at Interlochen. We are seeking customer-focused and friendly Retail Store Staff who embody our core values and are committed to nurturing young artists. As a Retail Store Staff member, you'll play a major role in providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a positive shopping experience, and ensuring customer satisfaction while fully immersing yourself in the unique environment that only a summer camp can offer.

What You Get To Do

• Cashiering and checking out guests which include campers, families, guests, concert-goers, employees, etc.
• Inventory management and restocking necessary items as needed
• General housekeeping of the store
• Helping parents/campers discover correct sizing and processing exchanges as needed
• Answering questions via phone and in-person
• Pulling and packing online orders
• Handling homebound shipping
• Enforcing spending limits for age-appropriate groups

What You Need

• Availability 6/17/2026 - 8/11/2026
• Prepared to live in a residence hall with a roommate. While we offer accessible housing accommodations, please note that due to the rustic nature of our camp, these options are limited.
• Able to work in an outdoor environment for an extended period
• Ability to use and carry items up and down stairs frequently
• Experience in retail sales is preferred, but not required
• Experience handling cash and credit transactions is preferred
• Candidates with a music background and/or experience in music retail is preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and fulfill customer needs
• Ability to well with others and be part of a friendly, customer-focused team

• Rustic Living: You'll be living in a residence hall, surrounded by the beauty of northern Michigan. Air conditioning is not provided; you may bring your own fan.

• Outdoor Work Environment: Many of your duties will involve working outdoors, often for extended periods, so being comfortable in various weather conditions is important.
