Product Designer

Role Description Supply chain is broken. It's the basis of our entire economy, but it (barely) runs entirely on Excel and email. The best in class purpose-built tools are so old-school that nobody bothers using them. Sales people have Salesforce, HR has Workday, and Accounting has SAP. Us software people have the best tools because we know our problems and we're able to solve them! You could help build the future of supply chain software using the bleeding edge of what the web and cloud have to offer. At LightSource, you'll work on building intuitive interfaces for what are often very complex interactions. You'll work hand in engineers to turn customer needs into product features from initial design to finishing touches. As a member of a small but prolific team, you'll set the direction for LightSource's visual design language. Every member of the product team is expected to be a product owner, understand our users' needs and get involved in the high level direction of LightSource. Requirements 4+ years of shipping applications with large, evolving scope Extensive experience with interaction design, visual design, typography, layout with a particular focus on desktop web productivity applications. Experience collecting structured feedback from users and translating into product requirements and solutions Experience with standard design tools/systems for prototyping and communicating designs Self-directed, should be just as comfortable getting involved in product discussions as design discussions Bonus Points UI/UX engineering experience Passionate about first principles thinking, best practices, and new technologies LightSource
