The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) welcomes your application for a rewarding position within our Geriatrics & Extended Care Service Line.
In this role, you will be essential in providing top-notch rehabilitative care to Veterans in both inpatient and outpatient environments. As the Medical Director for our TBI/Polytrauma Program, you will influence the future of rehabilitation for Veterans while working alongside a remarkable interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct inpatient rehabilitation consultations for acute care and Community Living Center patients.
Oversee the TBI/Polytrauma Program, including clinical management, program leadership, assessment and treatment of TBI effects, and team coordination.
Create personalized rehabilitation strategies to enhance patient independence and overall quality of life.
Collaborate closely with specialists in neurology, neuropsychology, therapy, nursing, social work, as well as hospitalists and surgeons.
Engage in quality improvement and program development initiatives within the GEC.

Preferred Qualifications:
Board certification or eligibility in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R).
Experience in inpatient physiatry or leadership within a TBI/Polytrauma program.
Strong skills in interdisciplinary collaboration.
A commitment to clinical excellence and Veteran-focused care.
Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship.
A full, unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in PM&R.
Attractive Federal Benefits Include:
Salary: $250,000-$275,000 per year, with an annual performance bonus and regular salary increases.
Sign-on Bonus: Approved recruitment/relocation incentive.
