Junior Shipping & Receiving Clerk

New Tech Global is looking for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for a client in NW Houston. JOB DESCRIPTION Hours: Monday - Friday 7am-4pm, occasional Saturday as needed. NOT a REMOTE position. Will train on forklift, 6S, Peoplesoft ERP and any other softwares as long as the candidate has basic proficency with MS Office and computing skills. Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour Functions
- Rotational duties required within the Warehouse (receiving, picking, packing, shipping).
- Operating Forklift within the Warehouse and outside in yard.
- Check and receipt goods inwards from suppliers, offshore, intercompany transfers.
- Locate stock into designated areas.
- Pick and pack items for shipping.
- Prepare invoices for shipments to worksites.
- Assist with cycle count and stock taking when required.
- Assist Warehouse Management with inventory reconciliation and inventory issues.
- Where appropriate raise non-conformance reports to follow up discrepancies found within processes.
- Adherence to Continuous Improvement for the purpose of refining relevant processes and procedures.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuously improving your working area through 6S activity.
- Participate in weekly 6S audits when required.
- Communicate and cooperate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
- Basic computing skills, knowledgeable in MS Office and a proficiency in Warehouse management system software (Peoplesoft ERP) to track inventory, mange orders, generate reports.

- Requires capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills / knowledge.
- Delivers output following defined procedures and processes.
- Moderate supervision and general instructions given for routine work, and detailed instructions given for new activities or special assignments.
- Applies moderate knowledge of practices and procedures for one's own work area.
- Considerable understanding of general aspects of the job with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.
- Ability to resolve most questions and problems, and refers complex issues to higher levels.
- Makes minor adjustments to work methods to solve problems that are routine and typically exist in current work processes and systems.
- Ability to communicate and listen effectively and professionally.
- Nature of communication typically includes exchanging information and explaining facts to the supervisor / more experienced employees.
- Daily indoor tasks that may include outdoor work depending on work scope. This will be performed during the day and seldom at night.
- Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place.
- Work surface is stable (flat).
