Job Summary The EMT is an essential position accountable for administering basic life support and stabilization procedures to patients at the accident or illness scene and during transport to medical facilities. Responsibilities Deliver highest quality of emergency medical care at the basic or intermediate advanced EMT level in accordance with department protocols, policies, and York County requirements. Maintain safety, optimize clinical care, and provide exceptional professionalism and customer service to everyone. Perform routine duties associated with daily operations, including detailed multi‑tasking, timely documentation, and driving emergency vehicles while using various technology and software. Understand and apply principles of prospective, concurrent, and retrospective quality review and feedback. Perform related duties as required. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an EMT program through an accredited technical school required. Experience: At least one year full‑time experience as a 911 EMS provider preferred. Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: South Carolina EMT certification required; nationally registered EMT certification within one year of employment; AHA BLS required within seven days of hire; PALS or PEPP within orientation; NIMS compliance with Incident Command/Incident Management within orientation period; 100, 200, 700, 800 certifications required within orientation period; valid driver’s license.
