Working Schedule : Full-Time OR Part-Time. 10 hour days, occasional Saturdays. Location : Amherst Responsibilities : Administer IV and injection medications as per written or verbal MD order and infusion policy. Coordinate and participate in a variety of patient care activities in the examination and treatment of patients, including infusion of IV medications such as chemotherapy and MRI imaging material. Prepare IV medications, including chemotherapy mixtures. Assist MRI by providing oral sedation to patients as necessary. Coordinate scheduling with Infusion Secretary. Evaluate patient care with emphasis on patient response; monitor providers’ plan of care from patient assessments, medical record and other record information; maintain liaison with physicians and practice administration to ensure efficient and effective patient care services. Contribute to patient care through patient and family education, distributing resource literature and community service recommendations and referrals as needed. May be required to assist with bio‑hazard cleanup (i.e., restroom, waiting area, exam room) following universal precautions/kits. Required Education & Experience : Associate’s Degree in Nursing Active NYS license, free and clear of restrictions 1+ years of working experience as a Registered Nurse Skills Necessary : Experience with starting IVs Strong telephone assessment skills High degree of verbal communication and interpersonal skills to determine needs, provide information, instruct, and provide emotional support in a timely and efficient manner. Strong planning, problem solving, organization, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to address and resolve conflict in a professional manner Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and follow all HIPAA guidelines Must be flexible and professional in all interactions with patients, providers and all staff Neurology experience preferred Previous high volume phone triage experience preferredGood computer skills and ability to learn EMR quickly, preferred Compensation : Most candidates will start within the first quartile of the pay range.
