Description:
Medical coding in an acute care setting is required.
Proficient computer skills are essential.
Candidates must possess knowledge of coding guidelines, payer guidelines, and federal billing guidelines.
An understanding of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes is necessary.
Candidates should have the ability to research coding-related issues.
Competence in coder training is required.
Experience in both inpatient and Emergency Department settings is mandatory.
Knowledge of 3M and HDS coding applications is needed.
