Step into a rewarding contract role serving a diverse K-12 student population in the ABLE (Adaptive Behavior Learning Environment) program. Here, your expertise as an Occupational Therapist will have a real impact, working collaboratively with educators and other specialists to foster growth, independence, and engagement for students with varying needs. This full-time position offers a consistent schedule—32.5 hours per week, 8am-3pm, with a half-hour lunch—and the ability to focus energy on a manageable caseload of 34 students.
Your experience in school-based OT will enable you to make a difference across multiple grade levels, helping students develop essential skills for their academic and daily lives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for IL
- Prior background in school-based OT, preferably across K-12 settings
- Knowledge of adaptive behavior interventions and sensory integration
- Experience supporting students on IEPs and collaborating on multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy to K-12 students within the ABLE program
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals
- Assess students’ functional abilities and participate in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and families to support student progress
- Adapt materials and strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Maintain accurate documentation of services and progress
