Job Title: Mechanical Procurement Specialist – Oil & Gas Facilities Construction Job Summary The Mechanical Procurement Specialist supports the procurement of mechanical equipment, fabricated materials, piping components, valves, rotating equipment, and subcontracted mechanical services for oil & gas facility projects. This role assists with day‑to‑day purchasing activities, supplier coordination, technical documentation, and order follow‑up while working closely with senior team members, mechanical engineering, construction, and project teams. Key Responsibilities Assist with procurement activities for mechanical packages and capital equipment under the guidance of senior team member. Help prepare RFQs/RFPs for mechanical equipment, fabricated materials, piping components, and field service. Support purchase order creation, tracking, and follow‑up for valves, pumps, pipe, fittings, structural supports, and related mechanical material. Coordinate with suppliers on fabrication schedules, delivery status, material certifications, and required technical documentation. Maintain procurement records, vendor files, drawing logs, and reporting trackers for assigned mechanical scope. Work closely with mechanical engineering, construction, and project teams to support equipment and material requirements. Assist with expediting long‑lead mechanical items and escalating fabrication or delivery concerns when needed. Review mechanical data sheets, specifications, and supplier documents to ensure alignment with project requirements. Support supplier communication and assist in resolving routine issues related to fabrication, documentation, and field delivery. Provide administrative and analytical support to the procurement team while developing knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred. 2+ years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, fabrication, or project support experience in mechanical or industrial environments. Internship, co‑op, or early‑career experience in oil & gas, EPC, mechanical construction, fabrication, or industrial environments is a plus. Basic understanding of mechanical materials, purchase orders, supplier communication, and technical documentation. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and ERP systems is a plus. Willingness to learn mechanical specifications, equipment data sheets, drawings, and project documentation. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to EPC, mechanical construction, fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial project environments. Coursework or training in supply chain, procurement, mechanical systems, or engineering technology. Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, or similar systems. Interest in developing a career in mechanical procurement for industrial or energy projects. Key Competencies Organization and attention to detail. Written and verbal communication. Demonstrated learning and growth in mechanical systems, procurement processes, and project success. Working Conditions Fast‑paced, project‑driven environment supporting mechanical scopes on capital projects. High cross‑functional collaboration with mechanical engineering, project controls, fabrication, and construction teams.
