American Sign Language (Fall 2026) Supplemental Instruction Leader

This position provides academic support for historically challenging Perkins courses with high drops, fails, and withdrawals to help increase student retention and overall success. This position assumes a near-peer facilitator role and assists designated personnel to ensure program objectives are met and related administrative support requirements are fulfilled. This position has a start date of August 3 (8/3) and will begin regular instructional duties during the Fall semester. Classification: Casual/As-Needed Casual Duration: On-call Responsibilities Assumes a near-peer facilitator role to ensure the program's purpose. Attends most courses as assigned. Creates and writes supplemental instruction plans for sessions and collaborates with the immediate manager and instructors to ensure adequate support, and accurate session data. Utilizes various technology platforms and interactive learning strategies; inputs and tracks related data, prepares documents, reports, correspondences; distributes survey data information. Develops resources and outreach materials to encourage participation in supplemental instruction, as well as training resources for Academic & Tutoring Support Services. Related projects and duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate's degree or 60 credits. Minimum GPA of 3.0 with evidence of understanding of related target course content. Academic recommendation. Completion of required training and professional development program requirements.
