Data Engineer

Our client is seeking a Data Engineer to build AI-driven applications, process automations, and data warehouse solutions on a Microsoft Azure and Fabric platform. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator able to translate ambiguous business needs into working software. This is an onsite position based in New York, NY.
Starting at $150,000/year. Data Engineer's Responsibilities and Duties:- Design, build, and operate AI-powered applications and agentic workflows
- Develop and maintain MCP servers, custom connectors, and API integrations
- Build and orchestrate end-to-end data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory
- Engineer data warehouse integrations and ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, PySpark, and SQL
- Build Python applications, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps to automate workflows
- At least 4 years of experience building production software and data-forward solutions
- 3 years of experience using AI agentic coding solutions
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Synapse
- Experience integrating LLMs and building agentic workflows or MCP servers
- Demonstrated experience designing data warehouse schemas and ETL/ELT pipelines
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
