Underwriting Support Specialist

Overview General Insurance is a leading provider of insurance products and services for commercial and personal insurance customers. Responsibilities Partnering with regional underwriters and/or more senior UW Support employees in the end-to-end processing of new and renewal business. Evaluating new and renewal submissions against prescribed criteria to determine completeness. Identifying and resolving account alerts and blocks during the submission process to avoid account conflicts. Performing data analytics, remodeling, and referral documentation preparation and completion, as well as form checklist and working approval. Assist with training and oversight of less experienced support staff. Qualifications 3+ years of related insurance experience and/or training, or an equivalent relevant combination of education and experience. Ability to work closely with underwriters and CoE partners to develop and deliver tailored solutions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and updated files. Excellent customer service mindset with proactive engagement via phone and email. Proficiency navigating proprietary, vendor, web‑based, and standard computer systems. Salary & Benefits For positions based in Illinois, the base salary range is $65,000 – $72,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
