Quality Inspector – Forge Shop

Location: Houston, TX 77015
Pay: $17.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience
Shift: First Shift | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join a busy Forge Shop / industrial manufacturing operation in Houston, TX.

This is a hands-on quality position responsible for inspecting forged and manufactured components to ensure they meet applicable drawings, specifications, dimensional requirements, and quality standards .

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in quality inspection within a forging, machining, metal manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment and be comfortable working directly on the shop floor.

• Perform inspections on forged and manufactured components

• Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify product quality

• Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy, workmanship, and conformance to specifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and inspection requirements

• Use precision measuring equipment such as:

  • Micrometers

  • Calipers

  • Pi tapes

  • OD/ID measuring tools

  • Other dimensional inspection instruments

• Document inspection results accurately and maintain required quality records

• Identify products that do not meet specifications and report nonconforming material

• Work closely with production and Quality personnel to address quality concerns

• Follow established inspection procedures and company quality standards

• Maintain measuring tools and inspection equipment in proper working condition

• Follow all required safety procedures and PPE requirements while working in the Forge Shop

• Previous Quality Inspector experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment required

• Experience with forged, machined, or metal components strongly preferred

• Must be comfortable performing inspections in an active Forge Shop / heavy manufacturing environment

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and dimensional requirements

• Hands-on experience using micrometers, calipers, pi tapes, and other precision measuring instruments

• Strong understanding of dimensional inspection

• Ability to identify and document quality issues accurately

• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills

• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with production and Quality teams

• Must be dependable and able to maintain regular attendance
