Electrical Assembler

Aerotek

Electrical Assembler

Join a specialized aerospace production team as an Electrical Assembler, working on large electrical assemblies that serve as the control "brain" within jet engine housings. In this hands-on role, you assemble wire harnesses and chassis for complex aerospace components using a variety of precision tools and test equipment. You interpret schematics and blueprints to build high-quality electrical assemblies that meet stringent aerospace standards, with light soldering required but not as the primary focus.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble large aerospace electrical components, including wire harnesses and chassis, used in jet engine housings.
  • Build and route cable and wire harness assemblies according to electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Use hand tools such as crimpers, strippers, micrometers, multimeters, and heat guns to prepare, terminate, and verify electrical connections.
  • Perform light soldering on electrical and electronic components as required by assembly instructions.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to ensure accurate assembly and wiring layouts.
  • Install and secure electrical components, cables, and harnesses within chassis and housings to meet mechanical and electrical requirements.
  • Inspect assemblies for quality, accuracy, and completeness, verifying that all connections, terminations, and components meet specifications.
  • Handle, move, and position assemblies and components safely, including lifting items up to 50 lbs as needed during the build process.
  • Follow established production processes, work instructions, and aerospace assembly standards to maintain consistency and reliability.
  • Use multimeters and other test equipment to perform basic continuity checks and confirm proper electrical connections.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, ensuring tools and equipment are used and stored properly.
  • Collaborate with team members and leads to resolve assembly issues and continuously improve build quality and efficiency.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience with electrical assembly, including wire harness and cable assembly.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform wire harness assembly for complex electrical systems.
  • Experience with chassis assembly, including mounting and routing electrical components and harnesses.
  • Proficient use of hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, micrometers, multimeters, and heat guns.
  • Ability to perform light soldering on electrical and electronic components.
  • Capability to lift and handle components and assemblies up to 50 lbs safely.
  • Familiarity with electrical and electronic assembly practices in a production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when following technical instructions and documentation.
  • Comfort working with both electrical and mechanical aspects of large assemblies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace electrical assembly or large-scale electrical assemblies.
  • Background in assembling complex housings or control units for industrial or aerospace applications.
  • Exposure to electronic assembly processes and quality standards.
  • Mechanical aptitude for working with chassis, housings, and structural components.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical testing using multimeters and related equipment.
  • Experience working in a structured production or manufacturing environment with defined processes and standards.
Why Work Here?

You join a team that contributes directly to highly engineered aerospace systems, working on complex and technically interesting products that have a tangible impact. The environment supports the development of strong hands-on skills with professional-grade tools and equipment, offering opportunities to deepen your expertise in electrical assembly and aerospace standards. You work alongside experienced technicians and assemblers who value precision, quality, and safety, in a setting that emphasizes reliability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.

Work Environment

This role is based in an aerospace assembly workroom focused on large electrical and mechanical assemblies for jet engine-related components. You work on production lines and dedicated assembly stations using tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, micrometers, multimeters, heat guns, and soldering equipment. The environment is structured, process-driven, and quality-focused, with clear work instructions and documentation to follow. You handle and move components that can weigh up to 50 lbs, and you may stand for extended periods while performing detailed assembly tasks. The facility operates as a technical production setting where adherence to safety procedures, proper tool usage, and organized work practices is essential, and attire is appropriate for a hands-on manufacturing and assembly environment.
