Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Per Diem Day Shift)

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This position provides direct patient care within the scope of practice, while also directing and guiding patient/family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel. The Registered Nurse maintains high standards of care within the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit and is directly accountable for the care provided to assigned patients. Responsibilities include communication with physicians regarding changes in patients' clinical conditions and the ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Responsibilities include:

• Deliver safe and effective patient care using the nursing process.
• Provide direct patient care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit.
• Guide and direct patient/family education and nursing activities.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and physicians.
• Assess and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Perform cardiac monitoring and interpret results of diagnostic studies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross) certification.
• Current ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of previous acute care hospital experience.
• Meditech EMR experience preferred.
• Ability to float to units as needed.

Schedule:

This position operates on a per diem basis with day shifts from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM.
