Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a PACU position requiring 3 years of PACU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Phase I and Phase II PACU units of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) with weekend requirements
• Block scheduling accommodated, with a preference for 4x10 schedules
• No floating to other units required
• No on-call requirements
• No call-in expectations

Requirements

• Active RN license (LA or Compact) required in hand upon consideration
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS (AHA certifications required)
• Minimum 3 years of PACU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and post-anesthesia care monitoring
• Experience with a wide range of surgical case types including cardiac, neuro, ortho, vascular, and bariatric procedures
• No prior travel experience required
• Updated NURSYS report required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team requiring the traveler to remain onsite or serve as part of a relief team during emergency events
• First-time travelers considered only if they have extensive PACU experience and Epic proficiency
• Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility to be eligible
• RTO must be disclosed on the candidate profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission
• No excessive RTO permitted
• Two Manager or Supervisor references (not Charge RNs) required prior to starting the contract, though not required for initial consideration
• Orientation held five days per week
• Previous permanent or in-house agency staff must be separated from the health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
