Job Title: Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and responsible Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator to join our team. This is not an animal rehabilitation job. The role is nuisance wildlife control and property repair: you remove unwanted wildlife from residential and commercial properties and complete the construction work required to fix damage animals have caused and to keep them from returning. Home repair knowledge and the ability to do construction-type work are required, not optional. Licensed operators must also follow state requirements for humane euthanasia when removal or relocation is not permitted or appropriate.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct thorough inspections of residential and commercial properties to identify wildlife entry points, damage, and potential habitats.
2. Safely and humanely capture and remove nuisance wildlife, including but not limited to raccoons, squirrels, bats, birds, skunks, and snakes.
3. Carry out humane euthanasia when required by state law and licensing rules for a wildlife control operator, using only approved methods and in accordance with all applicable regulations.
4. Implement exclusion techniques to prevent wildlife from re-entering properties.
5. Perform required construction and home repair work on houses and buildings damaged by wildlife, including fixing entry holes, damaged soffits, fascia, vents, roofing areas, siding, and related structural openings, and restoring affected areas so they are secure and weather-tight.
6. Repair or replace materials disturbed during removal work, such as insulation, screening, and access points, using appropriate construction methods and materials.
7. Educate clients on wildlife behavior, prevention methods, completed repairs, and why this service is control and repair rather than rehabilitation.
8. Use and maintain trapping equipment, ladders, hand and power tools, and safety gear.
9. Follow all local, state, and federal wildlife regulations and applicable building practices, including state requirements for humane euthanasia by licensed operators.
10. Document wildlife removal, euthanasia when performed, and repair work, and keep accurate records.
11. Communicate clearly and professionally with clients about concerns, questions, and follow-up service.
12. Work with team members to complete jobs efficiently and on time.
13. Keep vehicles, equipment, and job sites clean and organized.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; wildlife management, construction, or a related field is helpful.
2. Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in wildlife control, construction, home repair, or a related field.
3. Construction and home repair knowledge is a must. Candidates must be able to perform hands-on repairs to structures damaged by wildlife.
4. Experience in hydraulics is a plus, though not required.
5. An active CDL is a plus, though not required.
6. Knowledge of Jobber is a plus, though not required.
7. Knowledge of local wildlife species, behavior, and habitat preferences.
8. Ability to safely handle and remove wildlife, including use of different types of traps.
9. Willingness and ability to perform humane euthanasia as required by state licensing rules for wildlife control operators. This position does not involve rehabilitating or permanently caring for animals.
10. Strong communication and customer service skills.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various weather conditions.
12. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
13. Daytime part-time hours with rare possibility of working weekends, evenings or holidays.
14. Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
15. Commitment to safety protocols and ethical treatment of wildlife within the scope of nuisance control, not rehabilitation.
16. Willingness to take and pass required testing to obtain wildlife control operator licensure in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
17. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, such as attics and crawl spaces, while maintaining safety and efficiency.
18. Willingness to perform other tasks as required.
