Job Description

This role offers a hands-on opportunity to join a heavy industrial manufacturing team in Delaware as a Production Laborer. You will begin by training alongside experienced manufacturing staff, supporting day-to-day production activities, and gradually develop the skills to operate machinery independently. This position is ideal for someone who is motivated, dependable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist current manufacturing staff with daily production tasks and general shop support.

  • Learn and follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols at all times.

  • Participate actively in training sessions to understand manufacturing processes and equipment operation.

  • Support the team in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

  • Perform general labor tasks, including material handling, assembly, and packaging of products.

  • Use basic hand tools and measuring tools, such as tape measures, to complete production tasks accurately.

  • Monitor and inspect products during and after production to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Gradually take on increased responsibilities, including setting up and operating machinery and production equipment.

  • Identify and promptly report any issues, defects, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.

  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals, deadlines, and quality expectations.

  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective measures.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.

  • Basic understanding of safety procedures and protocols in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

  • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks, processes, and responsibilities.

  • Comfort working with hand tools and basic production equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, construction, or general labor environment is a plus but not required.

  • Experience with general production, assembly, and machine operation is beneficial.

  • Familiarity with using hand tools and shop equipment in a production or shop setting.

  • Experience in roles such as production worker, shop helper, or machine operator is advantageous.

  • Ability to handle material safely and efficiently in an industrial setting.

Work Environment

This position operates in an industrial manufacturing environment that includes both older and newer machines. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the potential for overtime when production demands increase. The facility emphasizes safety and proper use of equipment, and you will work around active machinery, production lines, and general shop activities. Dress expectations align with an industrial setting, where practical, safety-oriented attire and appropriate footwear are required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, DE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
