LAB Support Technician

Laboratory Support Specialist

Coordinates and maintains consistent workflow of all Laboratory office tasks to ensure efficient operations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Performs general office duties including faxing, copying, scanning, and filing.
• Communicates with customers, staff, and physicians to answer questions and report results.
• Maintains office equipment and orders supplies.
• Creates, maintains, and updates files, databases, records, and other documents.
• Data entry that supports office needs, ICD-10 and CPT coding, and outreach registrations.
• Transcribes dictation reports, and clerical duties, that supports pathologists.
• Dispatches and manages slides and specimens for consults, referrals and other requests.
• Dispatches phlebotomy draws as needed.
• Assists with maintaining employee records and storage of regulatory certifications.
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree
• Clerical experience in a laboratory setting
• Prior Medical Transcription experience
